My son recently had a matinee with a script on a circus theme. Some of the boys were strongmen. At first I couldn’t imagine how he would look in this image, he’s not my type at all, but in the end it turned out pretty good, and any mom can make a costume like this.

2. I was lucky, I had a ready-made children’s vest; if I don’t have one, we take a large one and alter it.
3. Take an old blouse with sleevesm of the same cut as the vest and on its front side we sew or glue padding polyester in the locations of the chest, biceps-triceps, and shoulders. When all the muscles have been built up, we put a vest on top of this blouse. It looks like a blouse with a lining, and inside there is padding polyester.
4. Sew a belt. This accessory is necessary; it plays a major role in this costume. My strongman’s belt is made of suiting fabric, lined with hard double leather, and fastens with buttons (it’s better to do it with buttons). A badge made of satin fabric, with a trident painted in glitter - the coat of arms of Ukraine. The belt is trimmed with silver brocade braid.

5. Bottoms are black gym shorts and black socks and shoes. Ideally, of course, boots :)
6. Decorate with a little tinsel/rain. Draw a mustache or antennae :))))
Vikusya doesn’t go to kindergarten yet, I hope I’ll have time to whip up some kind of costume before the New Year.

Recommendations for choosing fabrics and accessories
For the suit you will need: striped knitted fabric or a very large vest, padding polyester, raglan shoulder pads, black knitwear for swimming trunks or ready-made children's shorts, a piece of faux leather for a belt and wristbands (or ready-made belts with a buckle), a very large buckle, red or blue satin (or any shiny fabric) for the cape, gold brocade for the collar and thick interlining to duplicate it, gold braid for decoration or New Year's tinsel
Description of work
1. Sew a jumper according to the child’s size, using a ready-made pattern or pajamas as a basis. If the suit is made from a vest, it should not be sewn in, but recut. Sew pieces of any fabric on the wrong side, leaving a small section of the seam open. The sewing points are shown with dotted lines in the diagram. Fill with padding polyester to simulate muscles, sew on shoulder pads.
2. Sew knitted swimming trunks or roll up the legs of ready-made shorts to the size of the swimming trunks. Sew the lapels. Sew two trouser legs made of striped jersey to the trunks (or use cut off parts of the sleeves). Sew pieces of any fabric on the wrong side and stuff with padding polyester. The sewing line is indicated in the diagram by a dotted line.
3. Sew the faux leather strip to the buckle. If there is no ready-made buckle, you need to cut it out of an aluminum can and wrap the sharp edges with tape. It’s better not to make a buckle out of cardboard, it will immediately wrinkle. Try the belt on the child and sew on a button to secure the tail.
4. Cut 4 wristbands (for arms and legs) from pieces of artificial leather. Make a slot at one end, narrow the other end and make two tails. Thread the tails through the slot, wrap them around the wrist and tie (see diagram).
5. Make a collar from gold brocade, duplicating it with thick non-woven fabric (so that it stands up). Sew on a satin mantle, decorate with braid or New Year's tinsel around the edge.
6. To make the costume look bright and impressive, a cape with a high collar is sewn from red or blue satin with gold trim. By the way, the tradition of entering the arena in bright capes did exist; it is still preserved among boxers.
7. It is best to wear high autumn boots on your feet, or at least Czech shoes. Sandals, boots or sneakers are not suitable for this look.
Makeup.
I highly recommend doing makeup! In a costume with makeup, the effect will be amazing. All you need to do is draw a curled mustache with a black cosmetic pencil (like Ivan Poddubny) and comb your hair back using hair gel (or wax).
Note.
For those who do not have sufficient experience in sewing, we can recommend a simpler option: wear a voluminous jumper or turtleneck, lined with padding polyester, and any knee-length pants.

DIY New Year's rock star costume. We just need black jeans, not really needed, cut them at the knees, put on a white shirt without tucking it into our trousers. New Year's costume "Treat". Let's take the idea from adult carnival costumes. Scrambled eggs would be especially fun for twins or siblings. We just take a piece of white fabric, or even an old pillowcase, and sew a round piece of yellow material in the middle to it. That's it, the breakfast costume is ready, and if there are two children, you can make a bacon or pizza costume for the second one.
Suit “Chunga-Changa”. Here the parents also use humor. From ordinary black stockings and straw they put together a very remarkable suit.
Ninja costume. A simple black suit, tights or just tight leggings, a jacket. You can either put a cloth on your face or paint it with black paints, leaving only the eyes untouched. Toy nunchucks, a ninja sword slung over your shoulders, a DIY New Year's costume, simple, but so classy and cool that everyone in the garden will definitely be jealous.
DIY Indian costume. It’s certainly as easy as shelling pears, if you can paint from pictures. We just buy khaki pants, browner ones, make fringe out of fabric or paper, attach it along the seam along the leg, baste it or simply attach it with paper clips. Then we draw a tattoo on the chest, buy feathers, either already multi-colored, or paint them ourselves. We will glue the feathers to the headband and put it on. Don't forget to purchase a toy inflatable axe.
Be sure to involve your child in creating a New Year's costume, let him make a few details with his own hands. And shows imagination.
