3. Game “Witch’s Broom”

In some villages, for example, before midnight, young and old gathered in the hut. One of the guys or young men dressed up as an old man, put on old, ragged clothes, the other - usually a teenager or a boy - put on a red shirt and a white hat with tassels specially prepared for this occasion. The “old man” - the passing year - sat on a chair in the middle of the hut. Exactly at midnight, the New Year boy joyfully ran into the hut, pushed his predecessor off the chair and sat in his place. “Old Year” was pushed out of the hut amid general shouts and ridicule.
