The most beautiful DIY postcard for grandma. DIY birthday card for grandma

What to give grandma for her birthday?

What can I do to please her?

Of course, you can ask your mother to buy something in the store, add a bouquet of flowers and calm down at that. But if you want to do something of your own, not limited to purchased surprises, then the first thing you think about is congratulations.

Kind words can be included in a homemade card. This type of handmade is called cardmaking, but sometimes it is also called scrapbooking (in fact, it is the production of decorated photo albums). Many quite serious people make beautiful designer postcards and even make money from it.

Let's try too.

How to prepare to make a postcard with your own hands?

First, let's study the topic - for this we will gather information in books or on various sites where craftsmen share their secrets of mastery.

The main thing is to understand what we want. What it will look like birthday card for grandma?

You can make a postcard in one plane, or you can make an opening one. In this case, the base is folded in half.

The simplest thing is to paint on white cardboard and give it to your grandmother. But this is not interesting!

Many different beautiful things can be added to a flat card to make it three-dimensional, tangible, a real gift, and not just a “subscription”.

What materials and tools are needed to make a postcard?

  • You will need a base, that is, thick paper or cardboard. You can buy designer accessories at a hobby store, or you can simply cut out a piece of the required size from any hard cardboard surface, cover, and then cover it with various interesting things.
  • Paints, colored markers - for inscriptions and drawings.
  • To decorate the postcard, you will again need colored paper and everything that you decide to attach to a sheet of cardboard and that can show the artist’s skill. Suitable pieces of beautiful fabrics, lace, buttons, beads, artificial stones from unnecessary beads, rhinestones, small cones, dried flowers, leaves, etc.
  • Glue and/or thread. Double sided tape.
  • Scissors; perhaps a stapler and an awl if you need to sew or “fasten” something.

    Postcard design options

There are a lot of them. You can start with simple ones, for the little ones. We cut out arbitrary flowers, a jug and stars, and glue it all onto paper. Grandmother will be pleased with the first gifts her grandchildren made with your own hands!

You can decide on more complex products; they are created by older children or adults who want to help make a card for their grandmother’s birthday.

Can be done 3D postcard- it will look very impressive. But you have to try. This will take time, although there is nothing particularly difficult here. The main thing is accuracy and attention, so as not to spoil any part with glue.

3D postcards open up beautifully; if you glue flowers together, you get a lovely bouquet.

Master class on making 3D postcards.

You need to pay special attention to the following:

  • glue is applied pointwise to the red marks, only along the edge of the petals, the inside of the assembly remains free, not glued. This is fundamentally important, because otherwise the “bouquet” will not open;
  • You need to glue the flowers in order, as the pictures are numbered. Moreover, apply to the previous elements only in the manner indicated.

To work, you need a sheet of colored cardboard or thick paper, seven squares of white paper, scissors, glue, a marker for coloring and glitter (optional).

Fold the squares 3 times diagonally and cut out 7 identical flowers with 8 sectors. We cut out one sector.

We color the templates and begin gluing them together as shown in the photo. The paint is applied only to 6 petals, one remains clean, and the neighboring “slices” will be glued to it.

In photo 13: glue is applied to the edge of the upper sector of the lower element. The following template is attached to it.

In photo 14: spot application of glue to 3 sectors, to which the next element is completely glued.

A voluminous DIY birthday card is a great gift for your mother or grandmother. The card features a watering can with carnations and a gift. All this is in 3D version, along with butterflies that complement the postcard.

What will you need for work?

  • Cardboard in yellow, orange and green;
  • Red colored paper;
  • Ruler, pencil, scissors and glue.

DIY voluminous birthday card step by step

3D postcard frame

The card consists of an orange cover and a yellow inner base, which should be slightly smaller than the cover. Therefore, at the first stage, cut 1 cm (or 2 at once) from the wide sides of the cardboard, and you can cut about 2 cm from the narrow sides, preferably with scissors with wavy blades. If there are none, a wavy line can be drawn and then cut out.

Fold the yellow cardstock in half and press the fold tightly.

Straighten the paper and mark the lines that will need to be cut out to create a stand for a watering can and a box with a gift on the card.

Please note that you need to take the fold line running in the middle as a basis. With a stand for a watering can, everything is simple: here you need to draw two parallel lines, with the fold exactly in the middle. But with a gift it’s more complicated. It should not be too voluminous, 1 cm is enough. Therefore, draw two parallel lines, part of which should be 1 cm below the fold, and the other 2.5 times larger, to form a square.

Cut these lines with scissors. Although a special stationery knife is more suitable for these purposes.

Turn the cardboard over with the front side facing you and form the cut strips into a stand and gift. Make a right angle on top of the future box with a gift, press all the joints and the necessary folds, as in the photo.

Fold the orange cardstock in half and glue the yellow one to it. Close the card, press it a little, iron it with your hand and open it.

If everything worked out for you, then consider that the main and most difficult part of a voluminous birthday card has already been done.

Postcard design

Draw and cut out 3 carnations and 3 almost copies of them from orange cardboard, only in a smaller form. You will also need green cardboard stems for the flowers. Considering the size of the card, draw a watering can and a ribbon with something like a bow, cut out the parts from orange cardboard. Cut out simple 3-4 butterflies from red paper.

All the necessary details are ready, glue them to the card. Glue large and small carnations together and glue the stem to them. Attach the watering can to the stand, and glue the flowers onto the watering can. Glue the tape along the middle of the protruding gift. Complete the composition with fluttering 3D butterflies. To do this, bend them a little, apply glue only in the middle and glue them. If necessary, raise the wings slightly up.

This is such a bright DIY voluminous birthday card. Mom or grandma will be delighted.

Children love to give their loved ones gifts made with their own hands. And if the birthday girl is a grandmother, why not make a card for her? Parents' help, properly selected materials, our advice - and your grandmother's birthday card is ready.

Tender Joy

Usually girls are more romantic and they like to make products with flowers. To make a postcard from your granddaughter, as in the photo, you need to prepare:

  • colored cardboard;
  • multi-colored shreds or pieces of gift paper;
  • scissors;
  • buttons;
  • threads with a needle;
  • glue;
  • green felt-tip pen or pencil.

Cut circles of different diameters from the flaps. For each flower you will need three mugs. Sew a button to the smallest circle; this will be the middle of the flower. There will be three flowers in total, but you can increase this number if desired.

Fold a sheet of cardboard in half to form a card. First glue the largest circles by the centers so that the edges resemble petals. Glue smaller mugs on top with a second layer in the same way. Glue the circles with buttons last. Draw the stems and leaves of the flowers with a green pencil.

Write a congratulation inside the card, and if the child is still small, write “To Grandmother from” to the parents, and the child will write the name himself. In a similar style, you can make a postcard, where the flowers will be of the same diameter, without buttons and not from fabric, but from colored napkins.

Kindness of the Heart

Both boys and girls will love a card made from hearts.

It requires a cardboard blank, a template (choose a heart), colored paper, scissors and glue.

This card can be made in two ways. You can paint the hearts with patterns or write on each heart what the children are grateful to their grandmother for. For example, for fairy tales, pies, smiles, care, etc.

When the hearts are ready, first glue a tree trunk made of paper onto the postcard, and hearts in the form of branches on top. It turns out cute, and then you don’t have to write a congratulation text, because the hearts will tell you why you love your grandmother.

Another option for a postcard is to fold a sheet of colored cardboard in half and on one side of the fold, with a simple pencil, draw the outline of the child’s palm, as in the photo:

If you cut out the palms along the contour and open the postcard, you will find that the palms are holding a heart. You can color the inside of the card with flowers or butterflies and sign it.

A Tribute to Grandma's Pies

Grandmothers will always feed you delicious food and drink tea. Grandma will really like a postcard in the shape of a teapot.

Glue an image of a teapot onto a piece of cardboard, decorate it with artificial flowers, sparkles, glue pieces of lace, and images of a jam jar.

Items such as aprons are also associated with grandmothers, because the grandmother works in the kitchen to feed the whole family. A very interesting idea for older children to make their own postcard-apron like in the photo.

Fold the cardboard piece in half. On the front, cut out the corners to create an apron shape. Cover it with gift paper and glue a multi-colored pocket decorated with a piece of lace on top. Round the bottom of the apron with scissors and decorate with a frill of corrugated paper. At the top and along the edges, glue ribbons - satin ties. Or you can punch holes with a hole punch and carefully tie ribbons through them. Separately draw on cardboard, and then cut out the kitchen utensils that need to be inserted into the “belt” or into the pocket. Write “Happy Birthday!” inside the card.

Here are more options for postcard aprons:

A special case

For my grandmother's anniversary, I want the card to be special and festive. In this case, you can use bright buttons of different colors and a photograph of a grandmother with her grandchildren.

Decorate the cardboard, sew or glue buttons in the form of a balloon that “carries” the house from the photo. Connect the ball and the house with threads. Cut out clouds from transparent fabric and glue them around the house and ball.

An anniversary is also an occasion for a big cake. The child will be happy to make such a bright but simple card himself, just need to stock up on beads, colored cardboard and plasticine.

  1. Take a bright sheet of cardboard, bend it in half and open it on the inside.
  2. Fold long strips of cardboard of different colors of the same width, but of different lengths, like an accordion. These are future holiday pie crusts.
  3. Glue the edges of the accordions so that their middle is on the fold of the card.
  4. Glue a cardboard candle to the top.
  5. Evenly stick small pieces of plasticine on the free space of the postcard, and press a bead or glitter into each of them on top.
  6. When the card is closed, the cake “folds.”
  7. On the top of the card, sign the words of congratulations to your grandmother on her anniversary.

A very delicate postcard is made from paper and plastic butterflies.

Paper butterflies are cut out according to a template from thick but thin paper. Glue the finished paper butterflies onto cardboard and decorate the card with beads and lace. Plastic butterflies can be cut out of bottles and painted with nail polish or paints.

Pots of flowers

To make such a postcard you need decorative colored glass pebbles on an adhesive base, multi-colored cardboard, colored paper, contrasting strips of paper with polka dots or stripes, and glue.

  1. Make 2 identical blanks of pots from colored cardboard and glue them together so that they form a pocket in which bouquets cut from colored paper can be placed. The bouquet should look like an insert into a pot. Flowers should only be on the top of the bouquet so that the rest of the cardboard is free for the congratulation text. Glue a colored pebble into the center of each flower. Insert the finished bouquet with wishes into the pot.
  2. Decorate the top of the pot with contrasting stripes, and at the bottom with a paper ladybug or butterfly.

Grandma will definitely like it.

You can make a card for your grandmother as a gift for her birthday, just like that, or, as in our case, for Mother’s Day. After all, the grandmother is the mother of one of the parents. I present a master class of our idea, I will describe not only how to make it, but also share several possible text options.

Hello dear friends of the blog, tomorrow we celebrate Mother’s Day in our country of residence. This event is similar to March 8 in Russia, except that it is celebrated only by the female half who already have children. My son, 6 years 7 months old, composed a poem for me at school. At the end of the article I will show you his gift, and most importantly it will be one of the ideas on how to write a congratulation text. We also prepared a card with a rather interesting meaning for my husband’s mother. So, less words - more action, let's start the master class.

How to make a postcard for grandma as a gift

What every granny will appreciate is the attention shown by her grandchildren. This will not require large expenses, but thinking about the meaning of the craft, what meaning it will convey to the recipient - this is the main attribute of success. For a couple of days I went through the motives of bouquets in my head - usually, it’s cliched; collages of photographs - a lot of material, but there is not a single photo with grandma.

And then I decided to look into my bins to create something together with my son. I was determined to only use what I already had in the house. Anyone who works with children will understand me well: every time we think about an activity, we rush to the store, buy everything we “need” or just like, and soon discover that we urgently need to sort it out. Sitting over a huge drawer, I took each item in my hands and thought: “What exactly can a child make from it with his own hands?” The idea came unexpectedly, it surprised even me, but it turned out beautifully, moderately soulful and appropriate to the meaning of the holiday.

What motivated me or necessary things:

  • Chenille wire;
  • a piece of twine;
  • sheet of paper for scrapbooking.

You can still see the buttons in the photo; Alexander likes to work with them, but this time he did without them. We also replaced the stationery silicone with hot silicone (I helped my boy attach the parts with a heat gun).

As you can see, I immediately drew a tree on the basis and asked my son: “You already know what a family tree is?” The answer was positive and we quickly drew on a white sheet of paper the branches of an ascending pedigree, that is, starting precisely with the name of my child. So, we figured out once again that grandma is dad’s mother and that although he has a sister (aunt) and she has children, Alexander is the only successor to the family name.

The idea is clear, let's start implementing it. In order for the crown to “lay down” beautifully, we started from the trunk. We cut the twine into pieces and glued it onto the drawn base.

For the crown, the master took strips of wire and rolled them into rings; he chose the technique himself.

The next step is to attach them to the paper, starting from the bottom. It immediately becomes clear that spirals of different sizes are needed so that there is no free space between them. To do this, my six-year-old cut the wire in half.

Now all that remains is to attach the apples and then my boy says:

Mom, grandmother Teersa has 5 grandchildren, which means there should be five apples.

Of course, why not! So it was my grandson who came up with the idea of how to sign the gift.

How to sign a postcard

The lyceum where my son studies has already introduced a computer literacy lesson. So far this is just learning the keys in a playful way, but my boy has set out to learn how to type quickly. Therefore, just take my word for it that all the text was typed and printed by him.

On the front side, it was decided to write only “For Grandma.” The child was delighted with the possibility of cutting with curly scissors. I don’t even know why we use them extremely rarely. Inside is the following text:

The five apples are: Gabriela, Gianmarco, Sebastian, Daniel and I, Alexander. Happy Mother's Day to you grandma! You gave me the most valuable thing in life - my dad.

If you came to my blog for the first time, I’ll explain that our life takes place in the Dominican Republic, where the national language is Spanish. In my opinion, the signature fits perfectly with the theme of the performance. And we will see the reaction to it tomorrow.

  1. Chocolate is a horse.
  2. Rose - frost.
  3. The world is a reference point.
  4. Waiting is a date.
  5. Ruby - name day.

Mami, para ti hay un pastelito
Y tambien un chocolate.
Estamos en un buen mundo
Yo te quiero muy profundo.

Tu heres muy preciosa
Te voy a regalar una rosa.
Yo tengo mucha esperanza
Para que tu bailes Linda danza.

Te voy a dar un rubi
Y yo voy a comer un mani.
Y para ti es una buena solution
Cantar Linda cancion.

If translated literally, the meaning is clear, but the poetic beauty is completely lost. But still…

Mommy has a curly cupcake for you
And also chocolate.
We live in a good world
I love you very deeply.

You are very beautiful
I'll give you a rose.
I have great hope
that you will dance a beautiful dance.

I'll give you a ruby
I'll eat peanuts myself.
And this is a good reason for you
Sing a beautiful song.

Of course I will sing and dance with a tambourine for my favorite person in the world!

But let's return to the older generation. I think that children 5-6 years old, with a little help from their parents, and younger schoolchildren almost independently, will be able to compose quatrains for their beloved grannies. I am sure that such filling of a handmade gift will touch the heart of each of them. What do you think, dear readers? I’m saying goodbye to you, I need to get some sleep, because tomorrow I have a well-deserved holiday - I’m a mother!

For most people, grandmother is one of the most dear and beloved family members. On her birthday, children and grandchildren try to provide her with a festive mood, give her gifts and say warm words and wishes. A wonderful, special, touching addition to a gift can be a card for grandma, which is perfect for a birthday, you just need to make it yourself. Without any doubt, such a simple souvenir will give a loved one many wonderful emotions! In this article we will talk about how to make them.

Making an apron card for your grandmother's birthday with your own hands

Almost every person associates the image of a grandmother with the aroma of baked goods and other delicious dishes, so on the occasion of her birthday, a symbolic card in the form of an apron will be relevant. We will prepare the following materials for it:

  • colored cardboard;
  • a piece of fabric;
  • ribbons;
  • buttons;
  • glue gun;
  • glue;
  • scissors.

First we will make the base for the card. Using a printed template, draw an apron on colored cardboard and cut it out along the contour (see photo of the sample below).

We cut out a pocket from a bright colored piece of fabric or suitable paper. If desired, it can be decorated with flowers, or a spoon, rolling pin and other relevant paper attributes can be placed inside.

We cut off a piece of thin satin ribbon, use a glue gun to fix it in the upper part of the apron, and decorate it with buttons.

We supplement the card with a congratulatory inscription.

Perhaps all grandmothers, and women in general, love flowers. For your grandma's birthday, you can make a beautiful, unusual card with flowers that will delight her for a long time. Let's prepare materials:

  • colored double-sided paper and cardboard;
  • scissors;
  • pencil;
  • glue.

Let's start with making flowers. They can be made from paper of any color, for example, you can choose your grandmother's favorite color.

Fold a square piece of paper in half, then in half again, and last time in the shape of a triangle. Cut in a semicircle. We unfold the flower, cut out one petal, and glue it together. It turns out a voluminous flower. We make seven such blanks. We also cut out a couple of simple leaves from green paper.

Now the resulting flowers need to be glued together in a certain way. The best way to do this is based on the photo below. Glue along the black dots.

We fold a sheet of colored cardboard in half; this blank will be the basis of the postcard. Glue the resulting flowers inside. As a result, we get an interesting three-dimensional card that is suitable for both a regular grandma’s birthday and an anniversary.

If a grandmother loves knitting and pleases her children and grandchildren with warm woolen clothes, she will be pleased to receive a postcard with an original decoration in the form of a ball of thread. For it you will need:

  • double-sided cardboard;
  • colored paper;
  • knitting thread;
  • glue gun;
  • curly scissors;
  • toothpicks.
  1. From a sheet of cardboard of the color you like, we make the base of the postcard: cut out a square, fold it in half. The edges can be trimmed with curly scissors.
  2. From colored paper of a different color, cut out two rectangles of such a size that they can fit on the front side of the card. We also process the edges with curly scissors. Glue them to the base.
  3. From paper of white or another suitable color, cut out two flowers, the edges of which are wrapped inward using a toothpick.
  4. We wind a small ball of thread and pierce it with two toothpicks.
  5. We glue the decorative elements to rectangles of colored paper on the base, and decorate the core of the flower with beads. We add an inscription if desired.

You can congratulate your grandmother on her birthday with a simple but very symbolic card, decorated with the outline of a child’s hand. To make it you will need:

  • cardboard;
  • pencil;
  • paints.
  1. We make the base of the card: fold a sheet of cardboard in half.
  2. On the front side of the future postcard we outline the child’s hand with a simple pencil. Instead of a hand, you can draw a flower, a heart or any other shape.
  3. The child will fill this outline with multi-colored fingerprints.

Grandma will be happy to receive such a postcard from both her grandson and granddaughter. You can make it even with a very small child, but how many pleasant emotions it will give to your beloved granny!
