Every year, young people from all over the world celebrate their holiday.
This holiday was founded in 1945, some time after the end of World War II. World Youth Day was established in honor of the creation of the World Federation of Democratic Youth, WFDY (World Federation of Democratic Youth, WFDY) during the world conference in London, which was held from October 29 to November 10, 1945.
This historically important conference brought together young earthlings from more than sixty-three different nationalities. Thirty million people united, despite differences in political views, different religions and nationalities.
For more than half a century since its founding, the Youth Federation has been doing everything possible in the fight for peace, protecting the rights of young people, and advocating for the international unification of youth from all over the planet. The WFDY also actively fights against racism, fascism, and neo-colonialism.
Every year WFDY hosts a creativity festival for young people and students. This festival was first held in 1947. It died down in Prague, gathering more than 17 thousand participants from different parts of the Earth.
This youth festival was held twice in Russia. The first brought together about 34 thousand participants representing 131 countries in 1957. And the second in 1985 was attended by 26 thousand participants who came from 157 countries.

Moscow also hosted the 12th World Festival of Youth and Students in the summer of 1985. The festival was held under the slogan: For anti-imperialist solidarity, peace and friendship! (For anti-imperialist Solidarity, Peace and Friendship!), brought together 26 thousand participants from 157 countries.
In October 2017, the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students was held in the Russian city of Sochi under the slogan “For peace, solidarity and social justice, we fight against imperialism - by respecting our past, we are building our future!”, bringing together more than 25 thousand participants from 185 countries of the world.
