Short wise parables that will remind you of the most important things. Parables about life with morals - short

A wise parable with a deep meaning...: Having returned from a trip, the Master told about a story that happened to him, which, as he believed, could become a metaphor for life itself: During a short stop, he headed to a cozy cafe. The menu included mouth-watering soups, spicy condiments and other tempting dishes. The master ordered soup. -Are you from this bus? — the venerable-looking waitress politely asked. The master nodded. - Then there is no soup. — What about steamed rice with curry sauce? - asked surprised...

On the sunlit mountainside he saw a venerable old man hunched over his work. A master and a student lived in the mountains. They were hermits. One day the Master says to the student: “Today we will go to people and answer their questions.” So they came down from the mountains, went out onto the road, sat on the side of the road and began to wait... Soon people began to come and ask the Master questions... about the meaning of life, about the world order of the universe, etc., but the Master was silent. And when it got dark and people dispersed, a traveler appeared on the road, he approached the Master and student and...

Parable: Life after death

A wise parable from Anthony de Mello. The master said to the artist: “To achieve success, every artist or composer needs to work long and hard.” Some people manage to free themselves from ego while working. In this case, a masterpiece is born. Later the student asked the Master: “Who is the Master?” - The one who is given the freedom to free himself from the ego. The life of such a person is a masterpiece,” answered the Master.

Thoughts: 8 life lessons

28.10.2018 . Proverbs

This post will not contain a parable, but wise life lessons. Some attribute these words to Buddha. 1. It's okay to start small. The jug is filled gradually, drop by drop. Every master was once an amateur. We all start small, don't neglect the little. If you are consistent and patient, you will succeed! No one can become successful overnight; success comes to those who are willing to start small and work hard until the pitcher is full. 2. Thoughts...

A parable about life that talks about why obstacles are needed: Once upon a time there lived a young man who liked all sorts of old trinkets, and he traveled around the world in search of unusual things that he found in junk shops. He was especially interested in tea cups, because, as it seemed to him, they could tell a lot of interesting things. One day, in a distant, unfamiliar country, he came across an antique shop, where he found an old tea cup. The young man took the find in his hands and began to examine it, when suddenly the cup...

TWO JUGS
1
Once upon a time there was an old Chinese woman who had two large jugs.
They hung over the ends of the yoke lying on her shoulder.
One of them had a crack, while the other was flawless and always held a full portion of water.
At the end of the long journey from the river to the old woman's house, the cracked jug was always only half full.
For two years this happened every day: the old woman always brought home only one and a half jugs of water.
The flawlessly intact jug was very proud of its work, but the poor cracked jug was ashamed of its shortcoming and was upset that it could only do half of what it was made for.
After two years, which seemed to convince him of his own endless unfitness, the jug turned to the old woman:
“I am ashamed of my crack, from which water always runs all the way to your house.” The old woman grinned. “You
noticed that there are flowers growing on your side of the path, but not on the side of the other jug? "
I sowed flower seeds on your side of the path because I knew about your shortcoming. So you water them every
the day we go home.
For two years in a row I was able to cut these wonderful flowers and decorate the table with them. If you weren't who you are, then this
there would be no beauty and it would not bring honor to our home. "
Each of us has our own very special quirks and shortcomings.
But there are features and cracks that make our lives so interesting and worthwhile.
You just need to perceive everyone as they are and see the good in them.

A PARABLE ABOUT POSITIVE THINKING

An African king had a close friend with whom he grew up. This friend, considering any situation,
that ever happened in his life, be it positive or negative, he had the habit of saying: “This is good!”
One day the king was hunting. A friend used to prepare and load guns for the king. Obviously he did something
incorrectly while preparing one of the guns. When the king took a gun from his friend and fired it, a large
finger. Investigating the situation, the friend, as usual, said: “This is good!” To this the king replied: “No, this is not good!” - And
ordered his friend to be sent to prison.
About a year passed, the king hunted in an area in which, in his opinion, he could be completely fearless. But
The cannibals captured him and brought him to their village along with everyone else. They tied his hands, dragged him a bunch
firewood, set up a post and tied the king to the post. As they came closer to light the fire, they noticed that
The king is missing a thumb on his hand. Because of their superstition, they never ate anyone who had a defect in their body.
Having untied the king, they released him.
Returning home, he remembered the incident when he lost his finger, and felt remorse for his
treatment of a friend. He immediately went to the prison to talk to him.
“You were right,” he said, “it was good that I was left without a finger.”
And he told everything that had just happened to him.
- I really regret putting you in prison, it was bad on my part.
“No,” said his friend, “that’s good!”
- What are you saying? Is it good that I sent my friend to prison for a whole year?
- If I weren’t in prison, I would be there with you.

CHICKEN AND EAGLE

Once upon a time there lived a farmer who raised chickens. Another passion of his was rock climbing. One day, while climbing
another rock, he came across a huge ledge. On this ledge lay a nest, and in the nest were three large eggs. Eagle eggs.
He knew that he was doing absolutely illogically and, of course, wrong, but the tempting prospect turned out to be stronger
reasonable arguments, and he took one of the eggs and put it in his backpack, looking around to see if their mother was nearby. Then he went downstairs and, returning to the farm, placed an eagle egg among the chickens.
That night the mother hen sat on a very large egg, the like of which was not found in any chicken coop. The rooster was very proud of this.
After some time, the egg cracked and the baby saw the light. He turned on his thin legs and saw a hen.
- Mother! - he exclaimed.
The order grew up with his brothers and sisters, chickens. He learned everything a chicken should know: cluck and peck.
grains, poke your beak in the dirt to find a worm or something edible, noisily flapping your wings and flying
several feet in the air before plopping down into dust. He firmly believed in everything that a chicken should believe in.
One day, at the end of his life, the eagle, who thought he was a chicken, looked up to the sky. High, high, in transparent air currents, powerful golden wings spread wide, an eagle soared.
- Who is this? - asked the old eagle, turning to his neighbor on the farm. - He's great. So much strength and grace.

There is so much poetry in every flap of the wings, in every movement.
“This is an eagle,” answered the chicken, “the king of birds.” This is a bird of the sky. But we, we are just chickens, we are birds of the earth.
It so happened that the eagle lived and died as a chicken, because he always thought that he was a chicken.

FULL JAR

A philosophy professor, standing in front of his audience, took a five-liter glass jar and filled it with stones, each at least three centimeters in diameter.
At the end he asked the students if the jar was full?
They answered: yes, it’s full.
Then he opened a can of peas and poured its contents into a large jar, shaking it a little. Peas took up the free space
between the stones. Once again the professor asked the students if the jar was full?
They answered: yes, it’s full.
Then he took a box filled with sand and poured it into a jar. Naturally, the sand completely occupied the existing free space and covered everything.
Once again the professor asked the students if the jar was full? They answered: yes, and this time definitely, it is full.
Then from under the table he took out a mug of water and poured it into the jar to the last drop, soaking the sand.
The students laughed.
- And now I want you to understand that the bank is your life. Stones are the most important things in your life: family, health, friends, your children - everything that is necessary for your life to still remain complete even if everything else is lost. Polka dots are things that have become important to you personally: work, home, car. Sand is everything else, little things.
If you fill the jar with sand first, there will be no room left for the peas and rocks to fit. And also in your life, if you spend all your time and energy on small things, there is no room left for the most important things. Do what makes you happy: play with your children, spend time with your spouse, meet with friends. There will always be more time to work, clean the house, fix and wash the car. Deal first of all with stones, that is, the most important things in life; define your priorities: the rest is just sand.
Then the student raised her hand and asked the professor, what is the significance of water?
The professor smiled.
- I'm glad you asked me about this. I did this simply to prove to you that no matter how busy your life is, there is always a little room for idleness.

TAMING THE TIGER

It happened in a tropical country. The daughter complained to her mother that she had been in love with a guy for a long time, but he did not reciprocate her feelings. And the mother said:
- This is a fixable matter. Bring me three hairs, but not ordinary ones, but pluck them from the tiger’s whiskers.
- What are you talking about, mom! – my daughter was scared.
- Just try, you’re a woman, you should be able to do everything!
My daughter thought. Then she slaughtered a sheep and went into the forest with a piece of meat. Waiting. At the smell of lamb meat, an enraged tiger appeared and rushed towards the girl. She threw the meat and ran away.
The next day she came again, and again the tiger rushed at her. The girl threw the meat, but did not run away, but watched him eat.
This happened the third and fourth time. On the fifth day, seeing her with meat, the tiger happily beat his tail. And the woman began to feed him directly from her hand. It was the same the next time.
For the ninth time, the tiger, having eaten a piece of lamb, put his head on the girl’s lap. The tiger dozed off blissfully, and the girl pulled out three hairs from the tiger's whiskers and brought them home to her mother.
“Well,” her mother told her, “you have tamed such a predatory beast as a tiger.” Now go to your boyfriend and tame him... Either with cunning, or affection, or patience - as you can.

A PARABLE ABOUT MEN AND WOMEN

One day a woman came to the sage and asked:
– Why is a man who has many women perceived as a hero, and a woman who has many men is perceived as a harlot?

To this the sage replied:
- Because a key that can open all locks is a good key, and a lock that can open any key is a bad lock.

THE SECRET OF THE BEST TEA
7

In Japan there was a certain club of gentlemen who met with each other to discuss news and drink tea. Among other hobbies, they loved to find expensive varieties of tea and create new varieties with exquisite taste.
One day it was time for the oldest member of the club to entertain his colleagues. He poured tea for them with great solemnity, measuring out leaves from a golden vessel to each member of the club. The tea received the highest praise from those present; they began to ask what kind of tea mixture he had come up with with such an exquisite taste. The elder smiled and answered: “Gentlemen, the tea that you gave such a high rating is drunk by the peasants on my plantation.”
The best things in our lives are usually inexpensive, and you don’t have to look for them for long.

A PARABLE ABOUT FRIENDS

A man died. His dog lay down next to him and also died.
And now the soul of a man stands in front of the gate with the inscription “Paradise” and next to it is the soul of a dog.
There is an inscription on the gate: “No dogs allowed!” The man did not enter these gates, he passed by.
They walk along the road and see the second gate, on which nothing is written, only the old man is sitting next to it.
- Sorry, dear...
- Peter I.
-What's behind these gates?
- Paradise.
- Is it possible with a dog?
- Certainly!
- And there, before, what kind of gate was there?
- In hell. Only those who do not abandon their friends reach Heaven.

MELT THE ICE
9

One winter, the Teacher and the student were walking along the river bank.
- Teacher! People don't understand each other. People try to communicate, read books that talk about mutual understanding - and stumble upon an invisible wall. Why is that? Can't this be taught?
- Come with me - The teacher walked across the ice to the middle of the river. - Look down. Do you see something here?
- No. How can I see something through ice?
- There, under the ice, there is a whole world unknown to you. Melt the ice and it will become water, giving life to the whole world.
But pour ready-made water here - it will freeze and only strengthen the kingdom of ice...

A parable about how the world treats a person

The student asked the Sage:
- Teacher, is the world hostile? Or does it bring good to a person?
“I’ll tell you a parable about how the world treats a person,” said the teacher.
“Once upon a time there lived a great Shah. He ordered the construction of a beautiful palace. There were many wonderful things there. Among other wonders in the palace there was a hall where all the walls, ceiling, doors and even the floor were mirrored. The mirrors were unusually clear, and the visitor did not immediately understand that it was a mirror in front of him - they reflected objects so accurately. In addition, the walls of this hall were arranged in such a way as to create an echo. You ask: “Who are you?” - and you will hear in response from different sides: “Who are you? Who are you? Who are you?"
One day a dog ran into this hall and froze in amazement in the middle - a whole pack of dogs surrounded it on all sides, above and below. The dog bared its teeth just in case, and all the reflections responded in kind. Seriously frightened, she barked desperately. The echo repeated her bark.
The dog barked louder. Echo did not lag behind. The dog rushed here and there, biting the air, and its reflection also rushed around, snapping its teeth. The next morning, the servants found the unfortunate dog lifeless, surrounded by millions of reflections of dead dogs.
There was no one in the room who could cause her any harm. The dog died fighting his own reflections.”
“Now you see,” the Sage finished, “other people bring neither good nor evil on their own.” Everything that happens around us is just a reflection of our own thoughts, feelings, desires, and actions. The world is a big mirror.
Just as a reflection in water reflects faces, so another person’s heart reflects your heart.

PARABLE ABOUT GOD
11

The man whispered, “God, talk to me,” and the forests and meadows began to sing. But the man did not hear.
The man exclaimed, “God, speak to me!” and thunder rolled across the sky. But the man did not hear.
The man looked around and asked, “God, let me see You,” and the star shone brightly. But the man did not notice.
The man demanded: “God, show me a miracle!”, and the newborn was born. But the man didn't know.
And the man shouted in despair: “God, touch me! Show that you are here!”, and God came down and touched the man.
But the man waved the butterfly away and left without understanding anything.

AT GOD'S STORE
12
One woman had a dream that the Lord stood behind the store counter instead of a salesman.
- God! It's you!
“Yes, I am,” God answered.
– What can I buy from you?
“Everything,” was the answer.
– Then, I would like to buy health, happiness, love, success, and a lot of money.
God smiled and went to get the ordered goods. Soon He returned with a small cardboard box.
- This is all?! - the woman exclaimed.
“Yes,” God answered calmly, “didn’t you know that I only sell seeds?”

GOOD SEED

One day, the disciples came to the elder and asked him: why do bad inclinations easily take hold of a person, but good inclinations take hold of a person with difficulty?
and remain fragile in it.
What happens if a healthy seed is left in the sun and a diseased one is buried in the ground? - asked the old man.
“A good seed that is left without soil will die, but a bad seed will germinate, giving a sick sprout and bad fruit,” they answered
students.
“This is what people do: instead of secretly doing good deeds and cultivating good beginnings deep in their souls, they
they put them on display and thereby destroy them. And people hide their shortcomings and sins deep in their souls so that others do not see them.
There they grow and destroy a person in his very heart.
Be wise.

CRICKET AND INDIAN

One American was walking with his Indian friend along a crowded street in New York City. The Indian suddenly exclaimed:
- I hear a cricket!
“You’re crazy,” the American answered, looking around the city’s central street crowded at rush hour. They were scurrying around everywhere

cars, construction workers were working, planes were flying overhead.
“But I really hear,” the Indian insisted, moving towards a flower bed laid out in front of some institution. After

He bent down, parted the leaves of the plants and showed me a cricket, carelessly chirping and enjoying life.
“It’s amazing,” responded the American. “You must have fantastic hearing!”
– No, it all depends on what you’re in the mood for. Look,” with these words the Indian scattered a handful of

coins Immediately, passers-by turned their heads and reached into their pockets to see if they had lost money.
“You see,” he smiled, “it all depends on what you’re in the mood for.”

IT ALL DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU SAY

One eastern ruler had a terrible dream that all his teeth fell out one after another. In great excitement he called
to your dream interpreter. He listened to him with concern and said:
- Lord, I must tell you sad news. You will lose all your loved ones one by one.
These words aroused the anger of the ruler. He ordered the unfortunate man to be thrown into prison and to call another interpreter, who, after listening to the dream, said:
- I am happy to tell you the good news - you will outlive all your relatives.
The ruler was delighted and generously rewarded him for this prediction. The courtiers were very surprised.
- After all, you told him the same thing as your poor predecessor, so why was he punished and you were rewarded? - they asked.
To which came the answer:
- We both interpreted the dream in the same way. But it all depends not on what to say, but how to say it.

DOG AND LION

One day a dog came to the lion and challenged him to a fight. But the lion didn’t even pay attention to her. Then the dog said:
“If you don’t fight me, I’ll go and tell all my friends that the lion is afraid of me!”
To which the lion replied:
“It would be better for a dog to condemn me for being a coward than for lions to despise me for fighting dogs.”

BRIEFS
17

Once a girl, several years old and very inquisitive, really annoyed her mother with her desires.
“help” her by preventing her from doing some very important and responsible work. And mom burst into a tirade like “how much
tell you that don’t bother me when I’m busy, but when you learn the rules of behavior!”, etc. This continued
verbal “education” for a few minutes.
When dad entered the room and, seeing the upset baby, asked:
- What did mom tell you?
In her childish language, which was still very difficult to understand, she babbled only two words that could be
“translate” as “Get out of here.” How much unnecessary things were said by mom! And the point is in a nutshell...

CRUMPLEST BILL

One famous psychologist began his seminar on psychology by holding up a 500-ruble bill. There were about 200 in the hall
Human. The psychologist asked who wants to receive the bill. Everyone raised their hands as if on command.
“Before one of you receives this bill, I will do something with it,” the psychologist continued. He crumpled it up and asked,
does anyone still want it? And again everyone raised their hands.
“Then,” he replied, “I’ll do the following,” and, throwing the bill on the floor, he lightly rolled it with his shoe on the dirty floor.
Then he picked it up, the bill was crumpled and dirty. “Well, which of you needs it in this form?” And everyone raised their hands again.
“Dear friends,” said the psychologist, “you have just received a valuable object lesson. Despite all that I have done with
this bill, you all wanted to receive it, since it has not lost its value. It is still a 500 ruble bill.
It often happens in our lives that we find ourselves thrown out of the saddle, trampled, lying on the floor. Such
situations we feel worthless. But no matter what happened or will happen, you will never lose your value.
Whether you are dirty or clean, wrinkled or ironed, you will always be priceless to those who love you."

Parable about Russia
19
A knight walked through the desert. His journey was long. Along the way he lost his horse, helmet and armor. Only the sword remained.
The knight was hungry and thirsty. Suddenly in the distance he saw a lake.
The knight gathered all his remaining strength and went to the water. But right next to the lake sat a three-headed dragon. The knight drew his sword and
With the last of his strength he began to fight the monster. He fought for days, then he fought for two days. He cut off two dragon heads. On the third day
the dragon fell exhausted. An exhausted knight fell nearby, no longer able to stand on his feet or hold his sword.
And then, with the last of his strength, the dragon asked:
- Knight, what did you want?
- Drink some water.
- Well, I would drink it...

TWO WINGS
20

When the Elder was asked:
- What should we rely on in life: feelings or reason?
He said:
- The mind has feelings, the feelings have reason.
Then he was asked:
- Which is better: the senses of the mind or the mind of the senses?
And the Elder told them:
- Which wing is better for a bird: the right or the left?
Then they asked:
- It turns out they are equivalent?
And he said:
- If they are yours...

TWO WOLVES

Once upon a time, an old man revealed one vital truth to his grandson:
- There is a struggle in every person, very similar to the struggle of two wolves. One wolf represents evil: envy, jealousy,
regret, selfishness, ambition, lies. The other wolf represents goodness: peace, love, hope, truth, kindness and loyalty.
The grandson, touched to the depths of his soul by his grandfather’s words, thought for a moment, and then asked:
- Which wolf wins in the end?
The old man smiled and answered:
- The wolf you feed always wins.

FRAGILE GIFTS
22
Once upon a time, an old wise man came to one village and stayed there to live. He loved children and spent a lot of time with them.
He also loved to give them gifts, but only gave them fragile things. No matter how hard the children tried to be neat, their new toys
often broke down. The children were upset and cried bitterly. Some time passed, the sage again gave them toys, but even more fragile.
One day his parents couldn’t stand it anymore and came to him:
- You are wise and wish only the best for our children. But why do you give them such gifts? They try their best, but
toys still break and children cry. But the toys are so beautiful that it’s impossible not to play with them.
“Very few years will pass,” the elder smiled, “and someone will give them his heart.” Maybe this will teach them to handle such a priceless gift a little more carefully?

FIRST STAGE
23

One seeker came to Saint Ramanuja and said:
– I want to find the way to God. Help me!
Ramanuja looked at him carefully and asked:
- Tell me first, have you loved anyone?
The seeker replied:
– Love and other worldly affairs do not interest me. I want to come to God!
– And yet, think again: have you loved a woman, a child, or anyone in your life?
– I already told you that I am not an ordinary layman. I am a person who wants to know God. Everything else doesn't make me
interested. I didn't love anyone.
Ramanuja's eyes filled with deep sadness, and he answered the seeker:
“Then it’s impossible.” First you have to know what it's like to really, truly love someone. You
you ask me about the last step on the path to God, but you yourself have not yet stepped on the first. Go and love someone!

ALL IN YOUR HANDS

A long time ago, in an ancient city there lived a Master, surrounded by disciples. The most capable of them once thought: “Is there
a question that our Master could not answer? He went to a flowering meadow, caught the most beautiful butterfly and
hid it between his palms. The butterfly clung to his hands with its paws, and the student was ticklish. Smiling, he approached
The master and asked:
- Tell me, what kind of butterfly is in my hands: alive or dead?
He held the butterfly tightly in his closed palms and was ready at any moment to squeeze them for the sake of his truth.
Without looking at the student’s hands, the Master answered:
- All in your hands.

PARABLE OF THE FALLS
25

One student asked his mentor:
- Teacher, what would you say if you found out about my fall?
- Get up!
- And next time?
- Get up again!
- And how long can this continue - keep falling and rising?
- Fall and rise while you're alive! After all, those who fell and did not rise are dead.

One young man fell in love with a very beautiful girl. But the girl was proud, arrogant and cruel. He often asked to become his wife, but she only laughed at him. Unable to bear it, the guy exclaimed: “I’ll do whatever you ask, as long as you’re with me!” And then the proud beauty said: “Bring me your mother’s heart as proof of your love for me.” Without thinking, the unfortunate man rushed to run home, killed his mother, took out her heart and ran back. Suddenly he tripped and fell. And then the mother’s heart carefully asks: “Son, are you hurt? Are you hurt, son?”

Returning from the trip, the Master told about a story that happened to him, which, as he believed, could become a metaphor for life itself:
During a short stop, he headed to a cozy cafe. The menu included mouth-watering soups, spicy condiments and other tempting dishes.
The master ordered soup.
-Are you from this bus? — the venerable-looking waitress politely asked. The master nodded.
- Then there is no soup.
— What about steamed rice with curry sauce? - asked the surprised Master.
- No, if you are from this bus. You can only order sandwiches. I spent the whole morning preparing the dishes, and you have no more than ten minutes left to eat. I cannot allow you to eat a dish whose taste you cannot appreciate due to lack of time.

One day, Jalaluddin Rumi, the great Sufi mystic, led his disciples to a field where a farmer had been trying to dig a well for many months. The disciples didn’t really want to go there: what was the point? Whatever the master wanted to say, he could say here. However, Jalaliddin insisted:
- Come with me. Without this you will not be able to understand what I am talking about.
It turned out that the farmer did the following: having started digging in one place, he walked away five to ten steps and started digging again. Not finding water, he began to dig in a new place. The farmer had already dug eight holes and was digging a ninth. He ruined the whole field.
Rumi told his disciples:
- Don't be like that idiot. If he had devoted all his energy to digging one well, he would have found water long ago, no matter how deep it was. He wasted his energy uselessly.

A parable is one of the most ancient types of edifying stories. Instructive allegories allow you to briefly and succinctly give any moral statement, without resorting to direct persuasion. That is why parables about life with morality - short and allegorical - have at all times been a very popular educational tool, touching on a variety of problems of human existence.

The ability to distinguish between good and evil distinguishes a person from an animal. It is not surprising that the folklore of all nations contains many parables on this topic. They tried to give their own definitions of good and evil, explore their interaction and explain the nature of human dualism in the Ancient East, and in Africa, and in Europe, and in both Americas. A large corpus of parables on this topic shows that, despite all the differences in cultures and traditions, different peoples have a common understanding of these fundamental concepts.

Two wolves

Once upon a time, an old Indian revealed to his grandson one vital truth:
– There is a struggle in every person, very similar to the struggle of two wolves. One wolf represents evil - envy, jealousy, regret, selfishness, ambition, lies... The other wolf represents good - peace, love, hope, truth, kindness, loyalty...
The little Indian, touched to the depths of his soul by his grandfather’s words, thought for a few moments, and then asked:
– Which wolf wins in the end?
The old Indian smiled faintly and replied:
– The wolf you feed always wins.

Know it and don't do it

The young man came to the sage with a request to accept him as a student.
– Can you lie? - asked the sage.
- Of course not!
- What about stealing?
- No.
- What about killing?
- No…
“Then go and find out all this,” exclaimed the sage, “but once you know, don’t do it!”

Black dot

One day the sage gathered his students and showed them an ordinary piece of paper on which he drew a small black dot. He asked them:
-What do you see?
Everyone answered in unison that it was a black dot. The answer was not correct. The sage said:
– Don’t you see this white sheet of paper - it’s so huge, bigger than this black dot! This is how it is in life - the first thing we see in people is something bad, although there is much more good. And only a few see the “white sheet of paper” right away.

Parables about happiness

Wherever a person is born, whoever he is, whatever he does, in essence, he does one thing - seeks happiness. This inner search continues from birth to death, even if it is not always realized. And on this path a person faces a lot of questions. What is happiness? Is it possible to be happy without having anything? Is it possible to get happiness ready-made or do you need to create it yourself?
The idea of happiness is as individual as DNA or fingerprints. For some people and the whole world is not enough to feel at least satisfied. For others, a little is enough - a ray of sunshine, a friendly smile. It seems that there can be no agreement between people regarding this ethical category. And yet, in different parables about happiness, common ground is found.

A piece of clay

God molded man from clay. He sculpted an earth, a house, animals and birds for man. And he was left with an unused piece of clay.
- What else should you make? - God asked.
“Make me happy,” the man asked.
God did not answer, thought for a moment and put the remaining piece of clay in the man’s palm.

Money can not buy happiness

The student asked the Master:
– How true are the words that money does not buy happiness?
The master replied that they were completely correct.
- It's easy to prove. For money can buy a bed, but not sleep; food - but not appetite; medicines - but not health; servants - but not friends; women - but not love; home - but not home; entertainment - but not joy; teachers - but not the mind. And what is named does not exhaust the list.

Khoja Nasreddin and the traveler

One day Nasreddin met a gloomy man wandering along the road to the city.
- What happened to you? – Khoja Nasreddin asked the traveler.
The man showed him a tattered travel bag and said plaintively:
- Oh, I'm unhappy! Everything I own in the infinitely vast world will barely fill this pitiful, worthless bag!
“Your affairs are bad,” Nasreddin sympathized, snatched the bag from the traveler’s hands and ran away.
And the traveler continued on his way, shedding tears. Meanwhile, Nasreddin ran ahead and placed the bag right in the middle of the road. The traveler saw his bag lying on the way, laughed with joy and cried out:
- Oh, what happiness! And I thought I had lost everything!
“It’s easy to make a person happy by teaching him to appreciate what he has,” thought Khoja Nasreddin, watching the traveler from the bushes.

Wise parables about morality

The words “morality” and “morality” in Russian have different connotations. Morality is rather a social attitude. Morality is internal, personal. However, the basic principles of morality and ethics are largely the same.
Wise parables easily, but not superficially, touch on these basic principles: the attitude of man to man, dignity and baseness, attitude towards the Motherland. Issues of the relationship between man and society are often embodied in parable form.

Bucket of apples

A man bought himself a new house - large, beautiful - and a garden with fruit trees near the house. And nearby, in an old house, there lived an envious neighbor who constantly tried to ruin his mood: either he would throw garbage under the gate, or he would do some other nasty things.
One day a man woke up in a good mood, went out onto the porch, and there was a bucket of slop. The man took a bucket, poured out the slop, cleaned the bucket until it shined, collected the largest, ripest and most delicious apples into it and went to his neighbor. The neighbor opens the door in the hope of a scandal, and the man handed him a bucket of apples and said:
- He who is rich in what, shares it!

Low and worthy

One padishah sent the sage three identical bronze figurines and ordered him to convey:
“Let him decide which of the three people whose statues we are sending is worthy, who is so-so and who is low.”
No one could find any difference between the three figurines. But the sage noticed holes in his ears. He took a thin flexible stick and stuck it into the ear of the first figurine. The stick came out through the mouth. The second figurine's wand came out through the other ear. The third figurine has a wand stuck somewhere inside.
“A person who divulges everything he hears is certainly low,” the sage reasoned. - Anyone whose secret goes in one ear and comes out through the other is a so-so person. The truly noble one is the one who keeps all secrets within himself.
This is what the sage decided and made corresponding inscriptions on all the figurines.

Change your voice

The dove saw an owl in the grove and asked:
-Where are you from, owl?
– I lived in the east, and now I’m flying to the west.
So the owl answered and began to hoot and laugh angrily. The dove asked again:
– Why did you leave your home and fly to foreign lands?
- Because in the east they don’t like me because I have a nasty voice.
“It was in vain that you left your native land,” said the dove. “You don’t need to change the land, but your voice.” In the West, just like in the East, they do not tolerate evil hooting.

About parents

The attitude towards parents is a moral task that was solved long ago by humanity. Biblical legends about Ham, gospel commandments, numerous proverbs, and fairy tales fully reflect people’s ideas about the relationship between fathers and children. And yet, there are so many contradictions between parents and children that it is useful for a modern person to be reminded of this from time to time.
The constant relevance of the topic “Parents and Children” gives rise to more and more new parables. Modern authors, following in the footsteps of their predecessors, find new words and metaphors to again touch on this issue.

Feeder

Once upon a time there lived an old man. His eyes were blinded, his hearing was dull, and his knees trembled. He could hardly hold a spoon in his hands, he would spill soup, and sometimes food would fall out of his mouth.
The son and his wife looked at him with disgust and during meals began to sit the old man in a corner behind the stove, and the food was served to him in an old saucer. One day the old man's hands were shaking so much that he could not hold the saucer of food. It fell to the floor and broke. Then the young daughter-in-law began to scold the old man, and the son made a wooden feeder for his father. Now the old man had to eat from it.
One day, when the parents were sitting at the table, their little son entered the room with a piece of wood in his hands.
- What do you want to do? - asked the father.
“A wooden feeder,” answered the baby. – When I grow up, dad and mom will eat from it.

Eagle and eaglet

An old eagle flew over the abyss. He carried his son on his back. The eaglet was still too small and could not make it this way. Flying over the abyss, the chick said:
- Father! Now you carry me across the abyss on your back, and when I become big and strong, I will carry you.
“No, son,” the old eagle answered sadly. - When you grow up, you will carry your son.

Suspension bridge

On the way between two high-mountain villages there was a deep gorge. The residents of these villages built a suspension bridge over it. People walked on its wooden planks, and two cables served as railings. People were so used to walking across this bridge that they didn’t have to hold on to these railings, and even children fearlessly ran across the gorge on the planks.
But one day the ropes and railings disappeared somewhere. Early in the morning people approached the bridge, but no one could take a single step across it. While there were cables, it was possible not to hold on to them, but without them the bridge turned out to be impregnable.
This is what happens with our parents. While they are alive, it seems to us that we can do without them, but as soon as we lose them, life immediately begins to seem very difficult.

Everyday parables

Everyday parables are a special category of texts. In a person’s life, every moment a situation of choice arises. What role can seemingly insignificant little things, unnoticed little meanness, stupid provocations, absurd doubts play in fate? Proverbs answer this question clearly: huge.
For a parable, nothing is insignificant or unimportant. She firmly remembers that “the flutter of a butterfly’s wing echoes with thunder in distant worlds.” But the parable does not leave a person alone with the inexorable law of retribution. She always leaves the opportunity for the fallen to rise and continue on their way.

All in your hands

In a Chinese village there lived a sage. People came to him from everywhere with their problems and illnesses, and no one left without receiving help. For this they loved and respected him.
Only one person said: “People! Who do you worship? After all, he is a charlatan and a fraudster!” One day he gathered a crowd around him and said:
- Today I will prove to you that I was right. Let's go to your sage, I will catch a butterfly, and when he comes out onto the porch of his house, I will ask: “Guess what I have in my hand?” He will say: “Butterfly,” because anyway, one of you will let it slip. And then I’ll ask: “Is she alive or dead?” If he says that he is alive, I will squeeze his hand, and if he is dead, then I will release the butterfly to freedom. In any case, your sage will be made a fool!
When they came to the house of the sage, and he came out to meet them, the envious man asked his first question:
“Butterfly,” answered the sage.
- Is she alive or dead?
The old man, smiling into his beard, said:
- Everything is in your hands, man.

Bat

A long time ago, a war broke out between animals and birds. The hardest thing was for the old Bat. After all, she was both an animal and a bird at the same time. And therefore she could not decide for herself who it would be more profitable for her to join. But then she decided to cheat. If the birds prevail over the animals, then she will support the birds. Otherwise, she will quickly go over to the animals. So she did.
But when everyone noticed how she was behaving, they immediately suggested that she not run from one to the other, but choose one side once and for all. Then the old Bat said:
- No! I'll stay in the middle.
- Fine! - said both sides.
The battle began and the old Bat, caught in the middle of the battle, was crushed and died.
This is why he who tries to sit between two stools will always find himself on the rotten part of the rope that hangs over the jaws of death.

A fall

One student asked his Sufi mentor:
- Teacher, what would you say if you found out about my fall?
- Get up!
- And next time?
- Get up again!
– And how long can this continue – keep falling and rising?
- Fall and rise while you're alive! After all, those who fell and did not rise are dead.

Orthodox parables about life

Also Academician D.S. Likhachev noted that in Rus' the parable as a genre “grew” from the Bible. The Bible itself is littered with parables. It was this form of teaching the people that Solomon and Christ chose. Therefore, it is not surprising that with the advent of Christianity in Rus', the genre of parables took deep roots in our land.
Popular faith has always been far from formalism and “bookish” complexity. Therefore, the best Orthodox preachers constantly turned to allegory, where they generally transformed the key ideas of Christianity into a fairy-tale form. Sometimes Orthodox parables about life could be concentrated into one phrase-aphorism. In other cases - into a short story.

Humility is a feat

Once a woman came to the Optina hieroschemamonk Anatoly (Zertsalov) and asked him for a blessing for a spiritual feat: to live alone and fast, pray and sleep on bare boards without interference. The elder told her:
– You know, the evil one does not eat, does not drink and does not sleep, but everything lives in the abyss, because he has no humility. Submit in everything to the will of God - that’s your feat; humble yourself before everyone, reproach yourself for everything, bear illness and sorrow with gratitude - this is beyond any feats!

Your cross

One person thought that his life was very difficult. And one day he went to God, told about his misfortunes and asked Him:
– Can I choose a different cross for myself?
God looked at the man with a smile, led him into the storage room where there were crosses, and said:
- Choose.
A man walked around the storehouse for a long time, looking for the smallest and lightest cross, and finally found a small, small, light, light cross, approached God and said:
- Lord, can I take this one?
“It’s possible,” God answered. - This is your own.

About love with morals

Love moves worlds and human souls. It would be strange if the parables ignored the problems of relationships between men and women. And here the authors of the parables raise a great many questions. What is love? Is it possible to define it? Where does it come from and what destroys it? How to find it?
Parables also touch on narrower aspects. Everyday relations between husband and wife - it would seem that what could be more banal? But here too the parable finds food for thought. After all, it’s only in fairy tales that things end with a wedding crown. And the parable knows: this is just the beginning. And keeping love is no less important than finding it.

All or nothing

One man came to the sage and asked: “What is love?” The sage said: “Nothing.”
The man was very surprised and began to tell him that he had read many books that described how love can be different, sad and happy, eternal and fleeting.
Then the sage replied: “That’s it.”
The man again did not understand anything and asked: “How can I understand you? All or nothing?"
The sage smiled and said: “You yourself just answered your own question: nothing or everything. There can be no middle ground!”

Mind and heart

One person argued that the mind on the street of love is blind, and that the main thing in love is the heart. As proof of this, he cited the story of a lover who swam many times across the Tigris River, bravely fighting the current, to see his beloved.
But one day he suddenly noticed a spot on her face. After this, while swimming across the Tigris, he thought: “My beloved is imperfect.” And at that very moment the love that held him on the waves weakened, in the middle of the river his strength left him, and he drowned.

Repair, don't throw away

An elderly couple who had lived together for over 50 years was asked:
- Probably, you have never had a fight in half a century?
“We were arguing,” the husband and wife answered.
– Maybe you never had any need, you had ideal relatives and a full house?
- No, everything is like everyone else.
– But you never wanted to separate?
– There were such thoughts.
– How did you manage to live together for so long?
– Apparently, we were born and raised in a time when it was customary to fix broken things and not throw them away.

Don't demand

The teacher learned that one of his students was persistently seeking someone's love.
“Don’t demand love, so you won’t get it,” said the teacher.
- But why?
- Tell me, what do you do when uninvited guests break into your door, when they knock, scream, demanding to open it, and tear out their hair from the fact that it is not opened for them?
“I lock it tighter.”
– Don’t break into the doors of other people’s hearts, as they will close even more tightly before you. Become a welcome guest and any heart will open to you. Take the example of a flower that does not chase bees, but by giving them nectar, attracts them to itself.

Short parables about insult

The outside world is a harsh environment that constantly pits people against each other, striking sparks. A situation of conflict, humiliation, or insult can unsettle a person for a long time. The parable comes to the rescue here too, playing a psychotherapeutic role.
How to react to an insult? Give vent to anger and respond to the insolent? What to choose – the Old Testament “an eye for an eye” or the Gospel “turn the other cheek”? It is curious that of the entire corpus of parables about insults, the Buddhist ones are the most popular today. The pre-Christian, but not Old Testament, approach seems most acceptable to our contemporaries.

Go your own way

One of the disciples asked Buddha:
– If someone insults or hits me, what should I do?
– If a dry branch falls from a tree and hits you, what will you do? – he asked in response:
- What will i do? “It’s a simple accident, a simple coincidence that I found myself under a tree when a branch fell from it,” said the student.
Then the Buddha remarked:
- So do the same. Someone was mad, angry and hit you. It's like a branch falling from a tree on your head. Don’t let this bother you, go on your way as if nothing happened.

Take it for yourself

One day, several people began to viciously insult Buddha. He listened silently, very calmly. And that's why they felt uneasy. One of these people addressed the Buddha:
– Don’t our words hurt you?!
“It’s up to you to decide whether to insult me or not,” replied the Buddha. – And mine is to accept your insults or not. I refuse to accept them. You can take them for yourself.

Socrates and the insolent

When some impudent person kicked Socrates, he endured it without saying a word. And when someone expressed surprise why Socrates ignored such a blatant insult, the philosopher remarked:
- If a donkey kicked me, would I really bring him to court?

About the meaning of life

Reflections on the meaning and purpose of existence belong to the category of so-called “damned questions”, and no one has a definite answer. However, deep existential fear - “Why am I living if I’m going to die anyway?” - torments every person. And of course, the genre of parable also touches on this issue.
Every nation has parables about the meaning of life. Most often it is defined as follows: the meaning of life is in life itself, in its endless reproduction and development through subsequent generations. The short-term existence of each individual person is considered philosophically. Perhaps the most allegorical and transparent parable in this category was invented by the American Indians.

Stone and bamboo

They say that one day a stone and a bamboo had a heated argument. Each of them wanted a person's life to be similar to his own.
The stone said:
– A person’s life should be the same as mine. Then he will live forever.
Bamboo replied:
- No, no, a person’s life should be like mine. I die, but am immediately born again.
The stone objected:
- No, it’s better to be different. Let a better person be like me. I do not bow to the wind or the rain. Neither water, nor heat, nor cold can harm me. My life is endless. For me there is no pain, no care. This is how a person's life should be.
Bamboo insisted:
- No. A person's life should be like mine. I die, it is true, but I am reborn in my sons. Isn't that right? Look around me - my sons are everywhere. And they too will have their own sons, and all will have smooth and white skin.
The stone was unable to answer this. Bamboo won the argument. This is why human life is like the life of bamboo.

One day a man came to God, he complained about his boring life and said that he was lonely on this beautiful planet. God began to think about how to create a woman, since he spent all the material on creating a man? God did not want to refuse the man, after reflection, he began to create a woman and invented the same thing.

He took the bright, beautiful rays of the sun, all the colors of the enchanting morning dawn, the sadness of the pensive moon, the beautiful appearance of a swan, the tenderness of a playful kitten, the grace of a dragonfly, the gentle warmth of affectionate fur, the insane attractiveness of a magnet. When all this was collected into one image, an ideal creation of incredible beauty appeared in front of him; she was not adapted to life on earth.
To prevent the cloying of this creature, he added the twinkling of cold stars, windy inconstancy, tears of clouds, fox cunning, the importunity of a fly, shark greed, the jealousy of a tigress, wasp vindictiveness, the intoxication of opium and filled it with life. As a result, a real charm, a real sweet woman, appeared in the world.
God gave this creation to a man and urgently said: - take her as she is, and don’t even try to change her!

Footprints in the sand

Once a man had a dream that he was walking along a sandy shore, and the Lord was next to him. And the man began to remember the events of his life. I remembered the joyful ones - and noticed two chains of footprints in the sand, my own and the Lord’s. I recalled misfortunes - and saw only one. Then the man became sad and began to ask the Lord: “Didn’t You tell me: if I follow Your path, You will not leave me?” Why, during the most difficult times of my life, was there only one chain of footprints stretching across the sand? Why did You abandon me when I needed You most? The Lord answered: “I love you and have never left you.” It’s just that in times of troubles and trials I carried you in my arms.

Parable about happiness

God molded a man from clay, and he was left with an unused piece.
- What else do you need to make? - asked God.
“Make me happy,” the man asked.
God did not answer anything, and only placed the remaining piece of clay in the man’s palm.

Taina of love

Once upon a time there lived an old man. He lived in an old temple.
Children often came to the temple to play. The most mischievous was a boy named Taro.
One day, while he was playing on the steps of the temple, three sparrows flew to him, and one of them said:
- The greatest thing in this world is the Sun. Thanks to the sun, our world is so beautiful.
But people accustomed to its light perceive the sun as a normal phenomenon.
Hearing this, the second sparrow said:
- No, the greatest thing in this world is water. Without water there is no life. But people are so used to her availability that they don’t give her her due.
And finally the third sparrow spoke:
- What you said is true. Both sun and water are wonderful gifts. But the most valuable thing on earth, which people don’t even think about, whose generosity they don’t even notice, is air. Without him we would die.
After listening to the conversation of the sparrows, Taro began to think. He never felt grateful to either the air, or the water, or the sun... The boy ran to the old man and told him about what he had heard. He was sad that people were so ignorant that little birds turned out to be wiser than people.
The old man smiled affectionately and said:
- I congratulate you on your great discovery. You are right. People have lost sight of what is most important in life. But all their mistakes can be forgiven if they learn Love. There are vices in people, but you cannot get rid of them, even if you gather all your will into a fist.
In order to drive out vices, God gave people Love. Only Love and its mysterious power allow people to remain the pinnacle of divine creation.

Only in Love is there improvement, only in Love is there development.
Love is the path to God. God does not show himself to us; instead of himself, he sends us Love.
Thanks to Love, people forgive each other, accept each other and create a beautiful world.

One day, a man walking down the street accidentally saw a butterfly cocoon. He watched for a long time as a butterfly tried to exit through a small gap in the cocoon. A lot of time passed, the butterfly seemed to give up its efforts, and the gap remained just as small. It seemed that the butterfly did everything she could, and she had no more strength for anything else.

Then the man decided to help the butterfly: he took a penknife and cut the cocoon. The butterfly immediately came out. But her body was weak and feeble, her wings were undeveloped and barely moved. The man continued to watch, thinking that the butterfly’s wings were about to spread out and get stronger and it would be able to fly. Nothing happened! For the rest of its life, the butterfly dragged its weak body and its unstretched wings along the ground.

She was never able to fly. And all because the person, wanting to help her, did not understand that the butterfly needs effort to exit through the narrow gap of the cocoon, so that the fluid from the body passes into the wings and so that the butterfly can fly. Life forced the butterfly to leave this shell with difficulty so that it could grow and develop.

Sometimes it is effort that we need in life. If we were allowed to live without encountering difficulties, we would be deprived. We couldn't be as strong as we are now. We would never be able to fly.

I asked for strength... and God gave me difficulties to make me strong.

I asked for wisdom: and God gave me problems to solve.

I asked for wealth: and God gave me brains and muscles so that I could work.

I asked for the opportunity to fly... and God gave me obstacles to overcome.

I asked for love... and God gave me people whom I could help with their problems.

I asked for blessings... and God gave me opportunities.

Forgiveness

Ah, Love! I so dream of being just like you! - Love repeated admiringly. You are much stronger than me.
- Do you know what my strength is? - asked Lyubov, shaking her head thoughtfully.
- Because you are more important to people.
“No, my dear, that’s not why at all,” Love sighed and stroked Love’s head. - I know how to forgive, that’s what makes me like this.

Can you forgive Betrayal?
- Yes, I can, because Betrayal often comes from ignorance, and not from malicious intent.
-Can you forgive Treason?
- Yes, and Treason too, because, having changed and returned, a person had the opportunity to compare, and chose the best.
-Can you forgive Lies?
- Lying is the lesser of two evils, silly, because it often happens out of hopelessness, awareness of one’s own guilt, or out of unwillingness to hurt, and this is a positive indicator.
- I don’t think so, there are just deceitful people!!!
- Of course there are, but they have nothing to do with me, because they don’t know how to love.
- What else can you forgive?
- I can forgive Anger, since it is short-lived. I can forgive Harshness, since it is often a companion to Chagrin, and Chagrin cannot be predicted and controlled, since everyone is upset in their own way.
- And what else?
- I can also forgive Resentment - the older sister of Chagrin, since they often flow from one another. I can forgive Disappointment because it is often followed by Suffering, and Suffering is purifying.
- Ah, Love! You are truly amazing! You can forgive everything, everything, but at the first test I go out like a burnt out match! I'm so jealous of you!!!
- And here you are wrong, baby. No one can forgive everything. Even Love.
- But you just told me something completely different!!!
- No, what I said, I actually can forgive, and I forgive endlessly. But there is something in the world that even Love cannot forgive.

Because it kills feelings, corrodes the soul, leads to Melancholy and Destruction. It hurts so much that not even a great miracle can heal it. This poisons the lives of those around you and makes you withdraw into yourself.
This hurts more than Betrayal and Betrayal and hurts worse than Lies and Resentment. You will understand this when you encounter him yourself.
Remember, Falling in love, the most terrible enemy of feelings is Indifference. Because there is no cure for it.

Somehow souls gathered for a meeting before incarnation on Earth. And so God asks one of them:
- Why are you going to Earth?
- I want to learn to forgive.

Who are you going to forgive? Look how pure, bright and loving the souls are. They love you so much they can't do anything
something for which they need to be forgiven. Soul looked at her sisters, indeed, she loves them unconditionally and they love her just the same! The Soul became sad and said: “And I really want to learn to forgive!”
Then another Soul comes up to her and says:
- Don’t worry, I love you so much that I’m ready to be with you on Earth and help you experience forgiveness. I will become your husband and I will be for you
cheat, drink, and you will learn to forgive me.

Another Soul comes up and says:
- I love you very much too and I will go with you: I will be your mother, punish you, interfere in your life in every possible way and prevent you from living happily, and you
you will learn to forgive me.
Third Soul says:
- And I will be your best friend and at the most inopportune moment I will betray you, and you will learn to forgive.

Another Soul comes up and says:
- And I will become your boss, and out of love for you I will treat you harshly and unfairly so that you can experience forgiveness.
Another Soul volunteered to be an evil and unfair mother-in-law...

Thus, a group of souls loving each other gathered, came up with a scenario for their life on Earth to live the experience of forgiveness and
embodied. But it turned out that on Earth it is very difficult to remember Yourself and your agreement.
Most took this life seriously, began to be offended and angry at each other, forgetting that they themselves created this life scenario, and
The main thing is that everyone loves each other!

Parable. Why is the woman crying?

The little boy asked his mother: “Why are you crying?”
- Because I'm a woman.
- I don't understand!
Mom hugged him and said: “You will never understand this.”
Then the boy asked his father, “Why does mom sometimes cry for no reason?” “All women sometimes cry for no reason,” was all the father could answer.
Then the boy grew up and became a man, but he never ceased to wonder: “Why do women cry?”
Finally he asked God. And God answered:
“When I conceived a woman, I wanted her to be perfect.
I gave her shoulders so strong that they could hold the whole world, and so soft that they could support a child's head.
I gave her a spirit strong enough to endure childbirth and other pain.
I have given her a will so strong that she goes forward when others fall, and she takes care of the fallen and the sick and the tired without complaining.
I gave her the kindness to love children under any circumstances, even if they hurt her.
I gave her the strength to support her husband despite all his shortcomings.
I made it from his rib to protect his heart.
I gave her the wisdom to understand that a good husband never intentionally hurts his wife, but sometimes tests her strength and determination to stand by his side without hesitation.
And finally, I gave her tears. And the right to shed them where and when necessary.
And you, My son, need to understand that the beauty of a woman is not in her clothes, hairstyle or manicure.
her beauty is in her eyes, which open the door to her heart. To the place where love lives."

Two names

A woman is truly happy when she has two names:
the first is “Beloved”, and the second is “Mom”.

Real love

A daughter once asked her mother how to distinguish real love from a fake.
“It’s very simple,” the mother answered, “... because I love you!” - this is true love. “I love you because...” is a fake.

Heart

In one village there lived a sage. He loved children and often gave them things, but they were always very fragile objects. The children tried to handle them carefully, but their new toys often broke and they were very sad. The sage again gave them toys, but even more fragile ones. One day his parents couldn’t stand it and came to him: “You are a wise and kind person, why do you give our children fragile toys?” They cry bitterly when toys break. “Very few years will pass,” the sage smiled, “and someone will give them his heart.” Maybe, with my help, they will learn to handle this priceless gift more carefully.

Abortion

Once a certain married couple came to the elder.
“Father,” says the wife, “I’m expecting a child, and we already have four children; If the fifth one is born, we won’t live. Bless me to have an abortion.
“I see that your life is not easy,” the elder answers, “well, I bless you to kill your child.” Just kill the eldest daughter, she is already fifteen years old: tea, she has already lived in the world, she has seen something, but that little one has not yet seen a ray of sunshine, it would be unfair to deprive him of this opportunity.
In horror, the woman covered her face with her hands and began to sob.

One couple had no children, although they had been married for several years. To avoid feeling lonely, a husband and wife bought a German Shepherd puppy. They loved him and cared for him as if they were their own son. The puppy grew up and turned into a big, beautiful, smart dog and more than once saved the owner’s property from thieves, was faithful, devoted, loved and protected his owners.
Seven years after the couple adopted the dog, their long-awaited child was born. The husband and wife were happy, the baby took up almost all of their time, and the dog received almost no attention. The dog felt unnecessary and became jealous of the child’s owners. One day, parents left their sleeping son in the house, while they themselves were preparing for a barbecue on the terrace. When they went to check on the child, a dog came out of the nursery. His mouth was bloody and he was wagging his tail contentedly.
The child's father assumed the worst, grabbed a weapon and promptly killed the dog. Then he ran into the nursery and on the floor, near his son’s cradle, he saw a huge headless snake. “I killed my faithful dog,” said the man, holding back tears.
How often do we judge people unfairly? The worst thing is that we do it without thinking, without even knowing the reasons why they acted one way or another. We don't care what they thought or felt, we don't care. And we do not allow the thought that later, perhaps, we will regret our haste. So next time, when we judge someone, let’s remember this parable about the faithful dog.

Happiness

Happiness ran across the field... So quickly, cheerfully and serenely that it did not notice the hole and fell into it. He sits at the bottom of this hole and cries. People found out about this and began to come to the pit to look at this miracle. Happiness fulfilled their wishes, and they left, happy and satisfied. One day a young man walked past this place. He stopped at the edge of the pit and watched for a long time as people made more and more new wishes, and then he offered his hand and rescued happiness from captivity. “What do you want? I will fulfill your every desire,” asked Happiness. But the young man did not answer anything and went on his way. And Happiness ran alongside...

As soon as the train started moving, he stuck his hand out the window to feel the flow of air and suddenly shouted in delight:
- Dad, see, all the trees are going back!
The elderly man smiled back.
A married couple was sitting next to the young man. They were a little confused that a 25 year old man was acting like a little child.
Suddenly the young man shouted again in delight:
- Dad, you see the lake and the animals... The clouds are traveling with the train!
The couple watched in confusion at the strange behavior of the young man, in which his father did not seem to find anything strange.
It began to rain, and the raindrops touched the young man’s hand. He was filled with joy again and closed his eyes. And then he shouted:
- Dad, it’s raining, the water is touching me! Do you see, dad?
Wanting to help in some way, the couple sitting next to them asked the elderly man:
— Why don’t you take your son to some clinic for a consultation?
The elderly man replied: “We just came from the clinic.” Today my son regained his sight for the first time in his life...

Once upon a time, a wise pilgrim, wandering through different lands, walked past an open field towards the temple. In the field he saw three people working. The pilgrim had never met anyone in this land, and he wanted to talk to these people. The pilgrim approached three workers and, wanting to offer his help, turned to the one who looked the most tired and, as it seemed to the pilgrim, dissatisfied and even embittered. "What are you doing here?" - asked the pilgrim. The first worker, all dirty and tired, answered with undisguised anger in his voice: “Don’t you see, I’m moving stones.” This answer surprised and upset the pilgrim, and then he turned to the second worker with the same question. The second worker looked away from his work for a moment and said indifferently: “Don’t you see? I’m making money!” For some reason, the pilgrim was dissatisfied with this answer, but let me remind you that he was a wise man. Then he approached the third worker to ask the same question. The third worker stopped, put aside his simple tool, dusted off his hands, bowed to the wanderer and, raising his eyes to the sky, quietly said: “I am building a road to the temple here.”

Parable of Sins

Two people go to the elder for confession. The first one committed one grave sin, and now he goes and humbly thinks about how he should confess. And the second one goes to the elder and reasons: he has a big sin, but why am I going, because I’m sinning all over the little things and there’s nothing to say. They come to the elder, he looked at them, and the one who committed one big sin was ordered to bring one big stone. And the second one has a hundred small stones. And when they brought it, the elder said to them: “Now return these stones to the place where you took them from.” But returning a hundred stones to their place is much more difficult. This parable is about the fact that there are no small, insignificant sins, that sin in its essence is always a violation of order.

The price of love

It is not the one who has seen a lot who will understand, but the one who has lost a lot. It is not the one who did not offend who will forgive, but the one who has forgiven a lot. Anyone who is unable to give way to another will condemn. Only the one in whose veins the blood never boils is jealous. And he who lives by his own profit cannot take someone else’s pain. And sadness does not bother those who do not know love at night. And the happiness of the meeting will not be known to those who did not breathe parting. Only those who lose a lot have learned the value of a lot!

Parable about God

A hermit once came to a village where it was full of unbelievers. He was surrounded by young people, calling on him to show where God, whom he so deeply revered, lived. He said he could do it, but first let them give him a cup of milk.
When the milk was placed in front of him, he did not drink it, but looked at it for a long time and silently with increasing curiosity. The young people became impatient, their demands became more and more insistent. Then the hermit said to them:

Wait a minute; They say milk contains butter, but no matter how hard I tried, I didn’t see it in this cup.
The youth began to laugh at his naivety.
- You stupid man! Don't make such ridiculous conclusions. Every drop of milk contains oil, which makes it nutritious. To get and see it, you need to boil the milk, cool it, add curdled milk, wait a few hours for it to curdle, then beat and remove the piece of butter that appears on the surface.

Ah well! - said the ascetic, - now it is much easier for me to explain to you where God lives. He is everywhere, in every being, in every atom of the Universe, thanks to which they all exist and we perceive them and rejoice in them. But to see Him as a real entity, you need to strictly, earnestly and sincerely follow the prescribed rules. Then, at the end of this process, you will experience His mercy and His power.

Once upon a time, an old Indian revealed one vital truth to his grandson.
“There is a struggle in every person, very similar to the struggle of two wolves.
- Which wolf wins in the end?
The old Indian smiled faintly and replied:
“The wolf you feed always wins.”

Parable. Appreciate every person

Every person who appears in our life is a teacher! Someone teaches us to be stronger, someone - wiser, someone teaches us to forgive, someone - to be happy and enjoy every day. Someone doesn’t teach us at all - they just break us, but from this we gain experience. Appreciate every person, even if he appeared for a moment. After all, if he appeared, then it’s no accident!

Parable about love

A young woman was sitting on a park bench and for some reason weeping bitterly. At this time Vanya was riding his tricycle along the alley. And he felt so sorry for his aunt that he asked:

Auntie, why are you crying?

“Oh, baby, you won’t be able to understand,” the woman waved her off.

It seemed to Vanya that after this her aunt began to cry even more. He says:

Auntie, does something hurt you and are you crying? Do you want me to give you my toy?

The woman burst into tears even more at these sympathetic words:

“Oh, boy,” she answered, “nobody needs me, no one loves me...

Vanya looked seriously and said:

Are you sure you asked everyone?

One day three wanderers were walking. Night caught them on the way. They saw the house and knocked. The owner opened the door for them and asked: “Who are you?”
- Health, Love and Wealth. Let us in for the night.
- It's a pity, but we only have one free place. I’ll go and consult with my family about which of you to let in.
The sick mother said: “Let’s let Health in.”
The daughter suggested letting Love in, and the wife - Wealth.
While they were arguing, the wanderers disappeared.

All in your hands

One master had a lot of students. The most capable of them once thought: “Is there a question that our teacher cannot answer?” Then he caught the most beautiful butterfly in the meadow and hid it in his palms. Then he came to the master and asked:
- Tell me, teacher, what kind of butterfly, living or dead, am I holding in my palms? - He was ready to clench his palms harder at any moment for the sake of his truth.
Without looking at the student, the master answered: “EVERYTHING IS IN YOUR HANDS.”

Parable of the Brook

Once upon a time there lived in the world a little Brook. He descended from the mountains into a beautiful green valley. And then one day he reached the desert. Then he stopped and thought: “Where should I run next?” There was a lot of new and unknown ahead, so Brook was scared.
But then he heard a Voice: “Courage! Don’t stop there, there’s still a lot of interesting things ahead!”
But Brook continued to stand. He wanted to become a big, full-flowing river. But he was afraid of change and did not want to take risks.
Then the voice spoke again: “If you stop, you will never know what you are really capable of! Just believe in yourself, and then you will be able to find the right path in any environment! Run on!”
And Brook made up his mind. He ran through the desert. He felt very bad. Unfamiliar places and sweltering heat took away his strength every day. And after a few days it dried up...
But after evaporating, the small droplets met high in the sky. They united into one large cloud and floated further over the desert.
The cloud floated over the desert for a long time until it reached the sea. And then the stream spilled into the sea with numerous drops of rain. Now he has merged with the vast sea.
Gently rocking on the waves, he smiled to himself...
Previously, when he lived in the valley, he could not even dream of such a thing.
Brook thought: “I changed my form several times and only now it seems to me that I have finally become myself!”
Don't be afraid of change and never stop there. When you overcome yourself, your weaknesses, when you win, you experience an amazing, incomparable feeling of delight, a feeling of victory!
Life is so multifaceted that you never know what awaits you ahead. God does not give trials to man that he cannot handle. This means that all challenges can be overcome.
And what a feeling of joy and happiness fills the one who overcomes them and wins!
Someone said: “He who risks nothing risks everything.”

Parable of King Solomon's Ring

The wisdom of King Solomon was infinite and the wealth in his treasury was almost also countless. Therefore, when one of the courtiers presented him with a gold ring as a gift, the king ordered it to be taken to the rest of the treasures, without paying special attention to it, and so it was lost among the other riches...

But one day there was a bad harvest in his country, men and women, children and old people died. Then Solomon ordered to take part of the treasures from his treasury and exchange them with a neighboring kingdom for grain in order to feed his people dying of hunger. When the gold was being taken out, a ring that had previously been given to him fell from the tray, Solomon took it in his hands and read the engraved inscription on the outer edge: “Everything passes!” He put it on his finger and never took it off again, looking at this engraving in difficult moments and finding consolation in this.

But his beloved wife died, and Solomon for a long time could not find a place for himself from grief, the ring no longer saved him. He took it off and was about to throw it into the pond when another inscription flashed on the inner edge: “This too shall pass!”
Being already a wise old man, sitting by the pond and watching the sunset, King Solomon twisted a ring on his finger and thought that his life was coming to an end, that everything had already happened... how important was his life, and did it mean anything? or. It was then that he saw the third and final engraving on the narrowest edge of the ring: “Nothing passes!”

Parable Angel

There lived a hermit-hunchback in an old village.
He was feared, he was not loved,
There were rumors about him that he was an evil sorcerer,
and people avoided him.

He wandered around the village with an old bag
in a perennial coat, eaten away by moths.
And if they saw him off with a laugh,
He sighed quietly, without offense, but with pain.

And people mocked, whispering behind their backs:
his horns are supposedly hidden under his hat,
And that’s why this little lame one
that he has hooves instead of fingers.

One day trouble came to the village:
then the wheat seedlings will die under the hail,
Then in the summer in July the cold will come,
then the wolves will slaughter the herd in the pasture.

Troubling, difficult days have come,
They will have a hard time in the winter without grain.
Not knowing what to do, they decided:
"The hunchback is to blame! Death to you, Satan!

Come on, let's go to the river quickly!
He’s there, he’s living in a dugout like an exile!”
And they moved en masse. And in every hand,
a stone that had been picked up was caught in the road.

He walked towards them, sad and quiet,
He already knew everything, He is not stupid, He understood.
And He didn’t turn away, He didn’t hide from them
and only hid his face in his hands.

Without once screaming under the hail of stones,
He only whispered: “May the Almighty forgive you!
Stones on the body, but it hurts the heart more.
He doesn’t look like us, which means he’s evil, which means he’s superfluous...”

The execution is over. Someone said rudely:
"Let's see the ugly back!
I’ve never seen such a hump!”
He threw off the coat covered in blood from the dead man.

The crowd languished in sick curiosity.
Suddenly, silently, like statues, people froze,
“Evil devil”, “Satan” hid instead of a hump,
under an old coat there are snow-white wings...

And past the dugout, with eyes downcast,
cruel, stupid people pass by.
The Almighty, perhaps, will still forgive them,
but Angel will no longer be around...
